About Perbandingan Mazhab Study Program
The Perbandingan Mazhab Study Program (PM) was established in the 1989/1990 academic year by Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs No. 122 of 1988. The PM study program educates students to become scholars who master Islamic Law with a concentration in Comparative Law. Graduates of the PM program receive an SH (Bachelor of Law) degree. Students are guided to develop competencies as legal academics, practitioners, and entrepreneurs in the field of Islamic Law, with a focus on Comparative Law.
Profile of Graduates
1. Legal Academics = Sharia scholars who are experts in mapping, developing, researching, and transferring sharia knowledge in the field of Islamic law (classical and contemporary) and the laws that exist in society; in the professions of researcher and legal advisor.
2. Legal Practitioners = Sharia scholars who master both formal and material Islamic legal theory in professionally resolving issues as Fatwa Drafters, Legal Consultants, Judges, Advocates, Mediators, Halal Auditors, and Hisab Rukyat Practitioners.
3. Legal Entrepreneur = Sharia scholars who implement Islamic legal maxims in developing muamalah practices.
Program Learning Outcomes
1. PLO-1 = Ability to understand basic scientific concepts and principles of Islamic law within the framework of comparative jurisprudence
2. PLO-2 = Ability to design legal solutions that are in accordance with Sharia principles in an open manner within the framework of comparative jurisprudence
3. PLO-3 = Ability to apply the culture of ijtihad in any legal dimension
4. PLO-4 = Ability to analyze fatwa results and the diversity of various schools of thought for research-related outcomes
5. PLO-5 = Ability to apply Islamic ethical values in the application of ijtihad with the principles of openness and diversity of schools of thought
6. PLO-6 = Ability to utilize and apply information and communication technology.
7. PLO-7 = Ability to understand perspectives, diversity, and comparisons in the realm of Islamic and positive law that apply to regional, national, and international frameworks
